  • My friend has also started a campaign on this.

Here was my letter to my friends, family and general acquaintances:

Last week had a profound effect on me. I felt a little piece of my hope in humanity turn black. After all the hard work that I and so many of my friends put into getting Bush out of office, it was very hard to face the results of the election. It took some days to recover and process. But NO more time can be wasted in planning to take our country back from the far right.

In light of last week's results it is clear that the DNC needs a new direction and leadership.

My friend has created a new website that I hope you will at least read through and take some time to ponder.

I was a big believer in Dean during the primary season because he was not afraid to speak the truth, use common sense and appeal to people on an emotional gut level. Emotional appeal clearly works for the Republicans. What we need is someone who is not willing to pander to all different factions of the far left, left, and center, but rather someone who has common says and says what he believes. Dean has already proven his effectiveness in gathering grass roots support. Though he didn't win the nomination he put life back into the Democratic party.

Terry McAuliffe and the DLC faction of the DNC have had two unsuccessful attempts to recapture the White House by using statistics and polls rather than common sense. Let's regalvanize the DNC and take back Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008.

    Let's start now.

A message can also be sent to the DNC by financially supporting Dean's Democracy for America initiative.

    Shannon
